Go Forth and Multi-Pleat

Get in the fashion fold.

Pleats are anything but plain! We can't get enough of this fun, flirty and feminine fabric in tops, skirts, dresses and even shoes! Here are a dozen of the most divine styles.

When a rich textural trend comes our way, who are we not to take it for a spin? Pleats are the perfect example; fun, fresh and full of potential, we love them in all their draping divinity.

Just tread with care. Pleats need extra TLC, and throwing them in the spin cycle is a one-way ticket to disaster! (Trust me, I learnt the hard way!)

As a general rule, DRY CLEAN ONLY! And here are some cautionary care points that come into play to ensure you get longevity out of your pleats.

Don’t Iron Pleats

To prevent extra crushing to pleats, take your skirt/blouse/dress off as soon as you get home and hang it. Depending on the fibre, some pleats create a permanent fold in the fabric, but others can fall out or bend easily when sat on, so don’t take any chances. And do not iron a pleated skirt if it is crushed. You will lose your sanity and hours of your life with futile results!

Don’t Spot-Clean Pleats

Agitating one spot of a stained pleated fabric can cause that area to become misshapen, and it may never bounce back. So, if you do have a stain on your pleated garment, take it straight to the dry cleaners and leave that one to the experts.

Here are the best ways to go forth and multi-pleat!
