I just love prints. When waltzing into a new season – and a colder, drearier one at that – a pop of print is something I relish. Here are the dots, florals, checks and stripes styles to mix, match and a dozen ways to wear new season prints!
Florals are perennially popular. This season flowers are feminine and delicate, taking inspiration from the iconic Liberty print. If this is too pretty for you, wear blooms with other prints to create a contemporary feel. Alternatively, pair florals back with casual mixes of denim and white.
How We Do Florals: You will see them this season in shirts and blouses with high necks, neck ties or full sleeves. Team these back with a cropped or distressed denim jean, hair up in a loose bun and a kitten heel or trainer.

Out damn spot! This season, dots are the print du jour. Bigger and bolder, dots are popping up randomly everywhere. Our current favourite is the classic white on black, which adds a touch of playfulness to any outfit. Otherwise, go with full hues of reds and blues for a fun feel.
How We Do Dots: Bozo the Clown you are not. If you want to wear dots without looking ridiculous, wear them on accessories or shoes for a subtle approach.

Stripes circa 2017 are a lot more graphic than past seasons. This year they are breaking the rules and going every which way. Wear them in pretty pastels or bold primary shades. Either way, shop smart for a style that can transcend seasons.
How We Do Stripes: Let your lines take centre stage in a dress. Be it an a-line style or a flowing, floor length show-stopper, the 2017 stripe should be the key piece with this look. Keep accessories and shoes subtle and non-competitive.

Ok, this one is a favourite of mine. Some people steer clear of gingham, checks and tartan for fear of being mistaken for a picnic blanket. Not me. I love a check as it’s both girly and #girlboss at the same time. This print is robust and directional, yet can be perfectly softened against a floral or some denim.
How We Do Checks: Skirts, skirts and more skirts. The longer and more flowing, the better. Go with a two-toned check or traditional gingham design. The key is if you have a skirt that covers the entire leg, show some skin on the arms (tanks or cuffed t-shirts are great) and always wear back with trainers or a gorgeous loafer to make this look perfect for the day.
