When it comes to Australian models, they don’t shine much brighter than Montana Cox. The Melbourne girl has graced the covers of Harpers Bazaar, modelled for Chanel, Dior, Givenchy and Oscar de la Renta and appeared in many of our most loved David Jones campaigns.
Her fresh appeal, fierce style and friendly approach make her a favourite! And now as the face of our beauty crush, Lanolips, we can’t wait to get the lowdown on her approach to beauty and how she keeps it so real!
What is your #1 beauty tip?
“Always, always remove your make-up. I’m a big believer in going to sleep with clean skin. I’m very partial to minimal makeup but I think it is super important to make sure you blend your foundation correctly (my mum taught me that). Being a model it important to look after my skin and lips and keep them moisturised – I slather 101 Ointment on my lips before bed to keep them plump before a shoot.
How does your skin change coming into autumn and winter?
“With the cooler months, I moisturise my face and body a lot more. I love to use Lanolips All-Over Everywhere Multi-Cream, for this and also La Prairie Skin Caviar, which is excellent for firming and lifting.”
What are your three skincare rules for colder months?
“I drink a lot of water to keep your skin hydrated, I like to get regular facials to keep my skin in good condition and I also slather my lips before bed to keep them plump and to stop them drying out.”
What beauty buys are in your handbag right now?
“Lanolips Tinted Balm SPF 30 – I pop it on my lips and cheeks for a touch of colour, Spice Bomb by Viktor and Rolf – it ‘s a men’s fragrance but it is all I wear. It’s musky and masculine! And MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, the perfect little shimmer highlighter for your eyes, nose and cheeks.”
What is your favourite use for Lanolips?
“To hold my eyebrows in place… I put Lanolips 101 on a mascara wand and brush it through my eyebrows to make them sit neatly – Lanolips 101 does everything.”
Favourite foundation to take you from summer to autumn?
“For everyday wear, I love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation the formulation is smooth on the skin and light-weight. I like to highlight with Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder, depending on the season I may add depth to the bronzer for a summery glow.”
What about mascara? Any quick tips for application or do you have tips for general maintenance?
“I think you have just to get cheap ones because you throw them our every couple of months. But one of my favourites is Maybelline. The one with the hard brush, it’s all about the brush — it’s long and spidery, lengthens and doesn’t make it clumpy.”
You travel so much. What is your #1 beauty tip when travelling?
“Remove all of your makeup and moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! I dab some lanolin under my eyes to keep them hydrated.”
